Shadow Work

Shadow work is the practice of meeting the hidden parts of yourself with compassion—bringing light to what was once unconscious so it can be seen, understood, and gently realigned. It’s not about striving to be “better.” It’s about honoring the parts of you that formed in pain or protection and allowing awareness to create space for healing, integration, and wholeness. Shadow work is deeply personal, and the way in — the modality that works best — isn’t the same for everyone or even for the same person in every moment. As I discover and refine approaches that resonate with me, I document them here so others can make use of them. The modalities I’ve documented so far are:

Emotional Alchemy — excavation based, you feel your way down through layers to the root belief, the right one makes you cry, then you reframe.

Polarity Balancing — energetic, you identify the charge, find its opposite pole, witness both simultaneously, and the charge neutralizes itself.

Light Retrieval — soul retrieval-style, you locate the fragmented piece of yourself that was left behind, witness them, invite them home, and your light amplifies as they rejoin the whole.
