Navigating life’s emotions and experiences can often leave us wondering about the energy we’re carrying—both within ourselves and in the situations around us. Elevated Thought is a tool designed to help you tune into your energy flow, offering a deeper awareness of when you’re in alignment with your passion, excitement, and inner peace. It’s a practical way to gauge where you stand energetically, giving you the clarity to make adjustments when needed.
Understanding the Different Flows
Energy flows in various ways, and these patterns give us valuable information about our state of being. Elevated Thought identifies three key flows:
- Unhindered Flow: This state feels light, open, and almost like a high or a rush because everything feels perfectly aligned. It’s a place where synchronicities seem to happen frequently, and you experience ease and excitement. When you’re in unhindered flow, you’re operating from a place of power and peace (authority), allowing life to unfold naturally and trusting that all is working for the good.
- Hindered Flow: This middle state involves a mix of unhindered and constricted energy. The flow is moving, but perhaps not at full capacity. For example, you might feel like you’re making progress but find yourself taking two steps forward and one step back. Often, this hindrance to the flow can take the form of force – “making” yourself doing things or just “gutting it out” or “powering through.” And while you can achieve a measure of perceived success or progress by doing so, the cost to your energy is higher because you are working (at least in part) against the flow rather than with it. The result of doing so tends to be a measure of discomfort, which is often addressed by numbing oneself (intentionally or not). Overuse of distractions like TV, social media, gaming, food, or other habits often mask the discomfort of one’s flow being hindered.
- Constricted Flow: This feels can feel heavy and turbulent or stagnant and stuck. More often it’s a sense of being unable to move forward or that every effort to do so requires much effort (force). In this state, people often feel emotionally overwhelmed, embittered about life, or simply depressed. To cope with this discomfort, again it’s common to numb through external means like the ones previously mentioned or one that alters one’s mental state to mask the discomfort such as alcohol or drugs. In this state, it’s easy to react impulsively rather than respond thoughtfully. It’s a signal that your energy is blocked and needs to be transmuted to move toward a more open state.
The Power of Awareness
One of the most powerful aspects of Elevated Thought is the ability to pause and assess where you are energetically. By asking the simple question, “How is my flow?” you can check in with yourself at any moment. Recognizing whether your energy is unhindered, hindered, or constricted is the first step in understanding what’s needed to shift into a more expanded state.
Using Elevated Thought as a Tool & Elevating Your Energy
Elevated Thought isn’t just about self-assessment—it can also be used to assess external situations. Whether you’re in a conversation, watching a TV show, or simply reflecting on your environment, you can pause and ask, “What is the energy of this show?” or “How is the energy in this space?” These questions help you become more attuned to the subtle shifts in energy around you, allowing you to be intentional to choose what you prefer so you can decide how to engage or disengage with the experience.
Elevated Thought is a powerful tool for recognizing where your energy is and for intentionally shifting it. Once you become aware of a constricted or hindered flow, you can take steps to transmute that energy and elevate yourself into unhindered flow. This process may involve grounding techniques, breathing exercises, or simply pausing to refocus on what excites you or brings you peace. By tuning in to your energy and actively choosing to shift it, you can bring yourself into alignment with your highest potential. We’ll explore this process of transmuting energy in more detail in a future post.
Actionable Insights
- Pause for Awareness: Begin by pausing to notice the energy in yourself, in your interactions with others, or in the media you consume. Ask yourself, “How is my flow?” and observe the answer without judgment.
- Track Your Shifts: As you practice using Elevated Thought, take note of how often you feel unhindered, hindered, or constricted. This awareness will help you recognize patterns and choose when and how to shift your energy.
- Engage with Intention: When you notice constricted or hindered flow, take a moment to breathe, ground yourself, and realign with your intention. This process will help you move toward an expanded state of energy, allowing you to feel more at ease and in flow.
Note: The Map of Consciousness by David Hawkins was in part the inspiration for this concept, and is another wonderful taxonomy for identifying where your energy/vibration is.
