In our journey toward balance and self-assurance, understanding how spirit/energy, and belief systems interact offers a transformative approach. What if we could cultivate an inner stability that remains undisturbed by others’ perceptions, rooted deeply in our true essence? Insights from Jeffrey Allen, Bashar, and a powerful exercise in self-perception show us how we can create this inner strength.
Bringing Your Energy Fully into the Present Moment
During a teaching from Jeffrey Allen, he presented a compelling image of spirit/energy that fills the “glass” of our body. He suggested that our sense of vitality and power depends on how fully present our energy is in each moment. When only a small portion of our energy is present—let’s say 10%—the rest may be distracted by past worries or future plans, leaving room for external energies to disrupt us. In this scattered state, we feel vulnerable, uneasy, and disconnected from ourselves.
But when we intentionally gather our energy, bringing it fully into the here and now, we create a sense of wholeness and vibrancy. Like a concert speaker filling a room with sound, this concentrated presence leaves no space for unaligned energies to enter.
He further explained that our energy always takes priority in our bodies, so if we find ourselves feeling something foreign and unwanted present, he encourages us to simply have our own energy be more intentionally present. He likens this to pouring water into a glass that’s been contaminated by a bit of oil: as we fill the glass with water (our spirit/energy), the oil (unwanted energies) is naturally displaced. This state of full presence is not only healing but also creates a powerful shield, as our own energy takes priority within us.
The Energy Physics of Belief: How Our Definitions Shape Our Experience
If you are being intentionally fully present and yet still experiencing an internal disturbance Bashar explains why that might be the case. He describes how our beliefs filter the energy within us. Every one of us is 100% energy, but the experience of this energy depends on the beliefs we hold. Negative beliefs—those that segregate and disconnect (in other words, are in contradiction to oneness)—cause this energy to manifest as anxiety or fear. These beliefs create a misalignment with our core, which Bashar describes as inherently positive and expansive.
In contrast, positive beliefs align us with our true essence, filtering energy into experiences of excitement, joy, and love. This alignment not only impacts our emotional state but also influences our physical well-being, creating a ripple effect that reaches into every part of our lives.
Seeing Ourselves as Unchanging Amid Praise and Criticism
One way to safeguard one’s self against unnecessarily adding negative beliefs or things that causes separation is to be intentional about remaining unaffected by others’ praise or criticism. Imagine an object held up for a group to critique. First, everyone identifies qualities they dislike about the object, then qualities they appreciate. The speaker alternately disparages and praises the object, asking the group afterward if the object has changed. The answer, of course, is no. This exercise highlights the importance of staying grounded in our self-view, unaffected by external praise or criticism, unless we consciously choose to shift.
This self-assurance mirrors the stability of spirit-filled energy and beliefs aligned with our true core. When we are rooted in our essence, we aren’t swayed by others’ perceptions; like the unchanging object, we remain steadfast, allowing neither praise nor criticism to distort our self-image.
Integrating Spirit, Belief, and Inner Steadiness
When we combine these perspectives, a holistic approach to well-being and self-assurance emerges. Allowing our energy to be fully in the present moment creates a protective force within our bodies, while aligning our beliefs with our true essence invites peace and positivity. Holding a steady self-image that doesn’t sway with others’ perceptions strengthens this inner balance and adds stability, allowing us to experience energy in its truest, most vibrant form.
Embodiment and being intentional about the belief sets we align with is less about force and more about allowing. Just as we fill a glass with water, we can invite energy to occupy more space within us. We can self reflect and choose to release old beliefs that cause feelings of separation and fear. And like the object, we can recognize that external judgments don’t alter who we are; we are the ones who determine how we see ourselves.
Ultimately, this alignment is about more than just feeling better—it’s about living fully and authentically, with every part of our being in harmony. When we are fully embodied, energy flows through positive beliefs, and we hold an unwavering self-view, we experience life from a place of unshakable strength, grounded in peace, love, and vibrant integrity.
Actionable Insights
1. Invite Your Energy to Be Fully Present. Take a quiet moment to draw your energy fully into the present, visualizing it filling your body completely. Notice any areas where you feel distracted or unsettled, and consciously bring your focus back to the here and now. How does it feel to be fully present, with your energy centered in the moment?
2. Examine Your Beliefs Through the Lens of Energy. Reflect on a belief you hold that may be limiting you. Is it rooted in fear, separation, or self-doubt? Now, reframe this belief with an integrative, positive perspective that aligns with your true essence. Observe how this shift affects your emotions and physical state. What new belief could help you experience greater peace, excitement, or joy?
3. Hold a Steady Self-View Amid Praise and Criticism. The next time you receive praise or criticism, pause and ask yourself, “Does this change how I see myself?” Practice viewing both as reflections of others’ perceptions rather than a measure of your worth. How would it feel to stand firm in your self-view, allowing only what resonates with your true essence to shape your perspective?
4. Observe Your Energy States as Reflections of Alignment. Throughout the day, notice how your energy feels in different situations. Are there moments when you feel constricted or anxious? When you feel joy or excitement, are you aligned with a belief or action that feels true to you? By observing these shifts without judgment, you can gain insight into the beliefs and choices that either align or misalign with your core.
